A PAGEANT OF BEAUTY, CULTURE, AND UNITY
Who can define you better? You or someone else?
The *Miss African Diaspora Cultural Beauty Pageant* is the beginning of how we, as melanated people, would like to define our own narratives of beauty. There are so many societal norms pushed by the media that have tried to define Africans/Blacks across the globe for centuries. This pageant is a cultural program that will honor authentic African beauty and culture-- African women, ages 18-40, of any height or weight can have this platform to express themselves. This program will build the self-confidence and self-esteem of our contestants and offer opportunities for their recognition. This contest is also intended to promote business within the Afrocentric clothing and jewelry industry. African and African descendent women have no need to feel insecure about their ancestry and their afro fashion looks. The Progressive Minds Show, organizers of The Exchange - Dusable Museum (Nov.2019) and The African Diaspora Summit Series would proudly like to present a true African Diaspora beauty pageant.
